On Super Bowl Sunday, Guy Fieri will host a huge Flavortown Tailgate party

Want to party on Super Bowl Sunday with Guy Fieri, “the mayor of Flavortown,” and thousands of other fans?

Registration for free tickets starts this morning, Jan. 13, for the annual Flavortown Tailgate, billed as the largest tailgate party in the world. The event will feature performances by  Loud Luxury and Tucker Wetmore — and plenty of food and drink curated by Fieri.

The Feb. 8 event starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Cow Palace in Daly City and wraps up at 3:30 p.m., the scheduled kickoff time at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

The culinary highlight will be the “Built in the Bay” restaurant collection by presenting sponsor SpotOn, with bites and sips from the Bay Area’s Waterbar, Palm House, Slanted Door, World Wrapps, El Castillito and China Live.

Other booths featuring food and drink include BeatBox Beverages, Anheuser-Busch, Velveeta, Sabra, King’s Hawaiian, Bota Box, Hellmann’s / Best Foods, Pendleton Whisky, Flavortown Sauces and Santo Tequila.

Attendees who want to upgrade to VIP All Inclusive Open Bar & Dining  — with seating near the stage  — can do so online for $49.99.

Fieri and one of the sponsors, Carnival Cruise Line, will honor those who have served in the U.S. military by providing 2,000 veterans with guaranteed access to the event. Veterans interesting in attending should apply at GuysFlavortownTailgate.com and click on VetTix. A Main Stage Salute to the military is planned, and Carnival will award a cruise to 10 military heroes on stage.

Details: Register for free tickets at GuysFlavortownTailgate.com. Although admission is free, Cow Palace parking is not. The event organizers advise ride-sharing and car-pooling.
